Hyperlink Navigation, New Windows
JavaScript control to open '80%' sized new windows
Your browser needs to be JavaScript (v1.1)
enabled for my new window controls to work fully.
If JavaScript is disabled, I
suggest switching it back on. However, if you do choose to keep JavaScript
disabled, you should still be able to enjoy ‘Salvia Divinorum Scotland’
without the full navigation aids.
Non JavaScript enabled browsers clicking my
cross-refer links should still open new windows. The only thing is that these
may or may not be fully sized, depending on the browser and other factors
outside my control (such as browser window’s previous state).
JavaScript enabled browsers will open a
window not fully sized (roughly 80% width and 80% height, but depending
on your screen dimensions) when left-clicked, but will retain right-click
functionality with my new window links. For example, if you are using Mozilla
Firefox and you decide you want the link to open in a new tab rather
than a new window, then you can right click and still do this. – I highly
recommend the Mozilla browser by the way.
Microsoft’s Internet Explorer doesn’t
support tabs, but here you could choose to override opening in a new window,
using right-click to open in the same window.
Having said all that, you’ll find
cross-reference links not yet fully controlled in this way. I hope to get
round to do most of them. One example is the Latest Updates page. The links
on the Latest Updates page open a new window by default (it’s designed as page
of cross-references). I’ve started changing these (from the top) but it will
need a bit of work to do them all because of the number of links involved.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you
notice glitches or have particular problems.
